We have a new member of our kennel ,we always breed for ourselves and our recent Ostia x Pegaso litter is no exception. One female Zaltana Just Do It or Nikke, (Nike) will remain in Poland in co-ownership with Wiktoria and Dorota Sapala of Z Herbu Sapały. Nikke is a beautiful girl with a very confident and friendly character, she will live in the house with Wiktoria who she is already very much in love with.

So much has happened since our last news update that it’s hard to summarise it in a few paragraphs
so I would just like to highlight some key events and special moments.

Our J litter puppies are now 10 weeks old and 2 have already left for their new homes, Just Add Rum (Cola) is living with Enili and Joosep in Estonia and Justify My Love (Chica) is living with Elena and her family in Ukraine. The other 5 puppies, Just Push Play (Tyler), Just Do It (Nikke), Just Jammin’ (Bobbi), Just Add Ice (Vodka) and Just-Ice (Justin) are still here with us, 3 are waiting to go to their new families and 2 are not yet reserved. Their mother, Tia, is loving her position in her small pack and now looks quite concerned every time we take one puppy out for its individual playtime with us.

Stormy, Zaltana Storm Starter, has continued to be very successful at the shows and has collected another 6 CACIB’s bringing his total CACIB awards to 13 and he is still not 2 years old. Stormy also completed his Polish and Ukranian Championships, achieved several Best of Group wins and a notable III Best in Show at the very big and competitive Poznan CACIB – where he also qualified once again for Crufts 2012. We thank Jose and Ewa of Winter Melody for their preparation and presentation of Stormy at this show.

Stormy’s mother Arktogea Emmanuelle completed her International Championship in August (6 x CACIB) and was very proud to win Best in Show couple with her son at the same show.

From our L litter the most wonderful news is that Didier, Zaltana Legend of the Seeker, happily living at home after the very sad 2.5 months when he was missing, has achieved real show success, he is already a Junior Polish Champion and in his first show in adult class achieved CAC, Best Male, Best of Breed and Best of Group. We thank Tosia Zakrzewska and Bartosz Staszek for their wonderful presentation of Didier in the show ring. Didier’s sister Chelsea also started her adult championship and needs just one more win to complete her championship.

We are also very proud of the achievements of our P litter, who are now 10 months old, and starting their careers in Junior class. Most notable among their achievements is Zaltana Playin’ with Fire who last weekend at Donetsk double CACIB show achieved 2 x Best of Breed, 2 x Best Junior in Breed, 1 x Reserve Best in Show Junior, a IV Best of Group and a III Best of Group.

We travelled quite a lot in the early summer including our first trip to Denmark where we stayed with our friends Kim and Diana, owners of our Pegaso’s Belle. Our show results were mixed but included 2 CACIB’s and a Best of Breed for Stormy and a III Best in Show puppy for young Punky, Zaltana Punk Rock Princess. More importantly though was the wonderful hospitality and the friendly, happy atmosphere at the
shows.

Later in the summer we had to cut down on travel because our daughter Lyndsey was unwell and we needed to stay home with her. Happily, Lyndsey is now much better and while the circumstances were not good it was actually lovely to spend family timetogether at home. We will attend two more shows in Poland this year and we plan our first show outside of Poland for January when we will travel to Trencin CACIB in Slovakia, hoping Stormy can come close to his results from last year when he won Best of Day and Reserve Best in Show.

20th June 2011

On the 9th of July we attended the World Dog Show in Paris and we are very happy to say that our

Stormy is now WORLD WINNER & BOB 2011 – Zaltana Storm Starter.

Winter Melody Winter Melody

He is truly following in his fathers paw prints as his daddy Winterfrost’s Pegaso achieved this title in 2010. We are very proud of this achievement especially against such high quality and quantity competition. In total there were 255 Siberians entered from across Europe and the world. Stormy’s litter brother Stanley – Zaltana Shadow stealer was also graded excellent and chosen to the final group in his class. Our little Punk Rock Princess also attended the show and at exactly 6 months old it was her first show in puppy class, we are happy to tell you she was graded Very Promising and was in the final group of puppies.

We would like to thank Ewa and Jose of Winter Melody Siberians for their company and support throughout the World Dog Show. It was a wonderful event and we made some great new friends and met up with some old ones, I am certain we will spend many enjoyable hours with them in the future.

The following weekend Stormy continued his winning streak at Warsaw CACIB, achieving Ex1 in Open Class, CACIB, Best of Breed,
Best of Group and Best in Show. Stormy’s mother Shisha – Arktogea Emmanuelle was female CACIB. Our Didier, the puppy from our L litter who was lost for 10 long weeks, also attended this show, his first ever, his result was very pleasing Ex1, Best Junior, Best of Breed Junior and final 6 juniors in Best in Show. This time our Punky, totally out of coat, was VP2 in puppy class. We are very happy with the results of all of our dogs in this show, there were 40 Siberians entered, including International champions and Best in Show Winners. The show overall attracted a total entry of 2770 dogs making Stormy’s Best in Show very special. The atmosphere at this show was very relaxed and friendly and we would like to thank our friends for their company and the judges for appreciating our dogs.

Finally way back on June 19th we attended a CACIB show in Scczecin Poland, at this show our Stormy was Ex1, CACIB and Best of Breed. Chelsea – Zaltana London Pride was Ex1 Best Junior, finally starting her Junior Championship and Punky was Best of Breed Baby and III Best in Show Baby!! It feel like a very long time ago, yet it was just exactly one month – so much has happened since then )

Now we have a short break and are enjoying spending time with friends, family and all of our dogs. Next week we will leave for Denmark where will attend 4 x CACIB shows in Vejen. We will visit with our Belle – Zaltana Pegaso’s Belle while we are in Denmark, we are really looking forward to seeing her again and spending a few fun days with her wonderful owners Kim and Diana.

We are going to attempt to keep this news page updated on a more regular basis. This weekend was quite successful for babies from our kennel.
In Russia Zaltana Shadow Stealer attended a show in Stary Oskol, he was entered in Intermediate class and achieved Ex1, BOB, BOG and Reserve BIS, congratulations to his owner Elena Latashina!
Also in Russia a baby from our P litter, Paws for Applause was 2 x VP1, BOB Baby and Res. BIS baby. The mother of his owner -Tatiana Volkova handled volt to this success.
In Ukraine Zaltana Playin' with fire was also Best of Breed Baby however, this time, was not selected in the finals. Finally here in Poland Volt’s sister Punk Rock Princess was VP1, BOB Baby and Res. BIS Baby. Congratulations to all three dogs, their father Winterfrost’s Pegaso and mothers Arktogea Emmanuelle and Snowmist’s Naturally Blonde. Next weekend Punk Rock Princess will attend her final show in baby class, a CACIB in Szczecin Poland after this all of these babies have their first shows in puppy class.

10th June 2011

It’s hard to believe our last news update was back in February, so much has happened since then and we have been very busy. All of the puppies from our P litter are now happily settled in their forever homes in Denmark, Russia, Ukraine and Poland and all of them have achieved success at the shows in including Best in Show Baby wins. We finally decided that one female from this litter would stay home with us ‘Zaltana Punk Rock Princess’ our Punk girl has made a very exciting start to her show career, achieving VP1 best female puppy every time she has been shown along with BOB baby and 3 x III Best in Show baby wins. Punky is a natural in the show ring and we are very excited about her future. Her brothers and sister are all doing equally well and we will post more news about them soon.

Our last news update ended with news of Stormy (Zaltana Storm Starter) and his success in his very last show in Junior class, Trencin CACIB where he was Best of Breed Junior, Best of Breed, Best of Group 5, Best in Show Junior and Best of Day. His next show was Rzeszow CACIB, we were quite nervous as this was his first adult class just a few days after turning 15 months, we shouldn’t have been.... he had a wonderful show and came home with his first CACIB. Now four months into his adult show career, age 19 months Stormy has achieved 4 x CACIB (in three different countries), 6 x BOB, 3 x BOG, 1 x BOD and 1 x BIS. 1 x III BIS. Most importantly Stormy just loves the shows, from the moment he gets into the bath before the show until the moment we arrive home he doesn’t stop smiling!!

Other dogs living in our kennel have also achieved many successes; memorable amongst these was CACIB for our Shisha (Arktogea Emmanuelle) in Dresden, Germany – where she lost with her son Stormy in the BOB contest. Our Tia (Snowmists Ostia) completed her Slovak Championship in February and Chelsea (Zaltana London Pride) completed her Slovak Junior Championship in early June with back-to-back BOB Junior wins in at Nitra CACIB.

Away from the shows we experienced a period of great sadness in our kennel, as one of our L litter puppies Didier (Zaltana Legend of the Seeker) was lost/stolen from his home in March. We searched and searched for him for more than two, very difficult, months, with a poster campaign, facebook page and support from friends across the country. This story had a happy ending as he was found in May living 20 Kms away with someone who said they “took him because he was a nice dog”. Didier is now happily settled back with his owner and is entered in Junior class at Warsaw CACIB in July.

4th February 2011

2010 ended with the birth – on December 23rd - of 5 puppies in our kennel, 3 boys and 2 girls sired by Winterfrost’s Pegaso and our beautiful Snowmist’s naturally Blonde. This is the Zaltana P litter: Paws for Applause; Poetry in Motion; Playin’ with Fire; Penny Lane and Pegaso’s Belle. The puppies are now six weeks and are very healthy, beautiful and crazy. We will be adding lots of pictures of these babies on our puppies page very soon.

Our first show in 2011 was a national show in Gdynia Poland, we entered Chelsea (Zaltana London Pride) as she was 9 months and 1 day old and we hoped she would make an early start to her Junior Championship. Finally, Chelsea was second in her class to a much older female who was already a Junior Champion, naturally we were disappointed but we know she is very young and she received an excellent report from the judge. It came to mind that our Stormy also came second in his first show in Junior class…

Our second show in late January was a very big CACIB show in Trencin, Slovakia; we hesitated to attend this show given the distance and the weather but we are very pleased we did. We entered Tia (Snowmist’s Ostia) hoping she could win her class and add a Slovak Championship to her titles; also Stormy, hoping he could also win his class and add a Slovak Junior Championship to his Polish and European Junior Championships.

It was Tia’ first show in almost a year, her last being The Purina National in Canada last March, when she completed her Canadian Championship while already pregnant with our “L” litter. Tia came second in her class, receiving Reserve CAC and an excellent report, unfortunately not enough to complete her championship. However it was Stormy’s day, handled by Greg, he won his class, receiving CAJC and completing his Slovak Junior Championship, he went on to win Best of Breed, Best in Show Junior, Best of Group and finally Best of Day. An amazing achievement for a young dog and for the second time he made Louise cry (the first was when he was Junior Winner at the European Dog Show). This was a great way to end Stormy’s career in Junior class, on the 13th February he will turn 15 months and the following week he will have his first shows in Intermediate class these will be CACIB’s in Rzeszow, Poland and Presov, Slovakia, where he will be joined by Chelsea in Junior class and Tia in Champion class.

Another boy from our S litter also started 2011 in style, with Paco (Zaltana Shadow Snatcher) winning CAJC and BOB Junior in Kaunas CAC show. Also both Paco and his brother Stanley (Zaltana Shadow Stealer) gained some experience in the harness, making the most of the winters snow.

In our next news update we will add news from the next shows plus lots of information about our P litter, their development and plans to travel to their new homes!
